I "bought" it. It says that I can listen to it via Google player. That means I need to install another piece of Google crapware. No thanks. I prefer the PlayerPro for Android, and the ability to transfer songs. DRM isn't worth "free".

I am not a big fan of Google, but there is nothing to install. Were you able to listen to a sample in your browser? The music in your library will play the same way. Just play it through the browser. I avoid all "here is something free just install our....", no thanks.
^ It is listed in My Music in the Play Store app of my phone. If I select to Listen to a song I get "To Continue you need the latest Play Music app." Again, there's playing it my way or Google's way. If I pay a few dollars, then I don't have to deal with Google's BS.
You try it through a browser (instead of through an app that isn't intended to play music -- as far as I know)? I think you can also download individual tracks, but they may say you can only download it x times without using our Google music desktop downloader. I'm speaking from experience on a computer, though, so mileage may vary.
That said, if you have a few dollars, why not find something to spend it on!

So are you long and hard yet? Sorry, had to say it. ;)
Katy Perry does that to men.
