DO NOT sell your iphone on ! Odds of being scammed are WAY high!
1. You sell a working phone, the buyer files a "not as described" and ships you back their broken phone...buyer gets your phone, you get the broken phone...
2. Buyer ships you back a box full of rocks...
Ebay and Paypal are 99% on the buyers side...and you can't even leave negative feedback if you get scammed...no way, no thanks.
I never sell anything of real value on ...just don't do it...Craiglists first, meet the buyer at a police station to make the exchange...that is the best route.
You do need to be really careful when selling on I just sold a new iPad mini on The buyer opened a claim saying that his account had been 'compromised". PayPal 'held' my $370 for over a week while they investigated. (had a negative balance). Luckily I shipped to the PayPal 'confirmed' address and required a signature on delivery. They gave me my money back though, so their policies have gotten a little better.
I also just sold my old Blackbery Bold thinking it wouldn't sell, but sadly it did for $15! I would imagine that they emply people to bid on phones so they don't have to issue $100 gift certs.
Never sell an item to someone far enough away that you're not able to hop in your vehicle and make a road trip to ensure the buyer is getting everything they paid for and then some.
Our firm sells roughly 300 phones/tablets per month on and if you log the IMEI of any device you sell by simply taking a picture of it next to your shipping label you will be fine. We even go the extra step of placing a note in each package reminding the buyer of our return policy stating all device ID's are logged. Also be sure to use signature CONFIRMATION, instead of regular tracking to ensure chargebacks will be covered by PayPal. Also be sure to properly reset the device before shipping.
We have had 2 individuals try to return different items, but stood behind us on both occasions because of our diligence.
